Overview
The company is a PE-backed business operating in the energy sector, creating a new category and entering a critical phase of growth following the successful completion of its Series B funding round. Legal is moving from founder-led, external support to a formal, scalable, in-house capability. This role will institutionalise how legal is done, shifting from reactive advice to repeatable, system-driven legal support that enables growth while maintaining strong governance and compliance. This is a foundational hire for someone who wants to build the legal operating model that supports enterprise customers, complex counterparties, and international expansion.

The Role
You will:
- Act as the primary legal advisor across the business, owning legal matters end-to-end
- Design and implement scalable legal frameworks, templates, and contracting pathways
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements across customers, partners, suppliers, and generators
- Advise on regulatory and compliance matters in a highly regulated environment
- Support corporate, governance, and shareholder matters, including fundraising and board processes
- Partner closely with senior leaders to translate strategy into clear legal execution
- Enable multi-market expansion, starting with the US, ensuring compliant and commercially sound execution
- Manage and optimise external counsel relationships where specialist input is required
