The Role
As Senior Compliance Officer, you'll strengthen the second line function, bringing regulatory product oversight that keeps the business compliant while enabling growth. You'll work closely with Product, Legal, Risk and Operations, involved from the earliest stages of new product development rather than reviewing decisions after the fact.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Product, Legal, Risk and Operations teams from day one of product development, helping build regulatory compliance into design and delivery rather than bolting it on later
- Advise on regulatory and licensing requirements as the business expands into new markets, developing practical solutions for cross border growth
- Lead regulatory filings, disclosures and engagement with supervisory bodies, owning the relationship with key regulatory stakeholders
- Own and evolve compliance policies, procedures and control frameworks, testing operations to spot weaknesses and drive real improvement
- Stay ahead of regulatory change across relevant jurisdictions, translating it into clear internal guidance and training
- Design and run thematic compliance reviews and audits, delivering sharp, actionable insight rather than box ticking reports
What You'll Bring
- 5/6+ years in Compliance, ideally within fintech, digital banking, credit or financial services
- Strong knowledge of UK/EU regulations (PRA, FCA, EBA, PSD2, CRD) or equivalent EEA supervisory frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable producing clear memos and regulatory correspondence
- A track record of driving process improvement, not just spotting problems but fixing them
- CAMS, ICA Advanced AML or CFCS certifications desirable; strong Excel or SQL skills a bonus
