Technical Tutor | Training Academy, | £50,000 - £55,000 per annum

You've spent years on site. You've commissioned the systems, fixed what others couldn't and learned things no textbook teaches. Now imagine passing all of that on.

Our client, the UK's leading security company, is looking for an experienced Fire & Security engineer to step off the tools and into the classroom at their training academy in Derby. You'll turn your hard-earned knowledge into the skills, confidence and professionalism of their apprentices, and shape the future of the industry.

Why this role?

  • Your experience is the qualification. They want someone who has done the job and can show apprentices what good looks like.
  • Build engineers from the ground up. You'll train apprentices to the FESS Level 3 Standard and see them grow from trainees into capable, confident engineers.
  • Leave a legacy. Employees who started as trainees now head up key departments. You could be the person who gave them that start.
  • Help shape the Academy. You'll have a real voice in how training is developed, including new commercial training modules.

  • Deliver engaging classroom and online technical training in Fire & Security Systems

  • Engage with external clients and agencies
  • Keep the Academy running smoothly, including quality assurance compliance and learner documentation

  • Solid, hands-on experience installing Fire & Security systems. This is essential.
  • A genuine desire to coach, mentor and inspire people early in their careers
  • Confident verbal and written communication
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organisation and time management, and the ability to juggle competing priorities in a busy environment
