About our client
Our client is a long-established caterer with decades of experience in the hospitality industry. Our client operates at venues of all sizes and is exclusive to prominent sporting, entertainment, and cultural locations across the UK.
About the Cashier Assistant Role
The cashier will be required to travel to venues, such as Racecourses, to assist with the cashing up of over 20 stalls daily. Millage is paid at 35p per mile. Lunch is also provided at specific venues.
The cashier assistant will be carrying out the business's day-to-day cashiering requirements, providing exceptional customer service, and assisting with EPOS systems and payment terminals where required.
Critical responsibilities required for the cashier assistant:
- Assist with fulfilling the physical cash and change requirements of our event operations
- Restaurant cashiering
- Ensure an accurate inventory of card terminals is maintained to help drive cashless transactions
- Attend event days to oversee and carry out cashiering operations
- Building & maintaining strong relationships with key members of other teams around the business
- Carry out weekly safe checks, ensuring cashbook reconciliation is up-to-date and accurate
Working Hours:
During peak season hours, May - September, working hours will be: 10am on site - 8.30pm. There is give and take and worst case scenario is an 8.30 pm finish, not every evening.
Skills and competencies required for the cashier assistant:
- Excellent time management and organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure
- High levels of accuracy and ability to problem solve
- Possess relevant experience, preferably from within the retail or hospitality industry
- The ability to work proactively and reactively and manage one's own workload
- Advanced Excel skills and a good knowledge of other IT systems
- Strong interpersonal skills with a natural positivity, tenacity, energy, drive and ambition
