FryerMiles are working with a brilliant Defence consultancy to recruit an experienced Full Stack Developer for a 12 month contract supporting a major Defence Intelligence programme.
You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering a modern, secure solution combining user-centred design, workflow orchestration, cloud-native technologies and integration with existing MOD systems and tasking processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop full-stack applications using Python, TypeScript and React
- Build modern, intuitive and responsive front-end applications
- Develop scalable backend services, APIs and microservices
- Integrate applications with existing MOD systems and data sources
- Support the development of AI-enabled, knowledge and semantic search capabilities
- Develop workflow and tasking functionality to reduce manual processes
- Work alongside UX, platform, data and AI specialists
- Contribute to automated testing, code reviews and CI/CD
- Deliver high-quality, maintainable code within a secure Defence environment
Essential Experience
- Strong commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer / Software Engineer
- Strong Python development experience
- Strong TypeScript experience
- Strong React experience
- API and microservices development
- Experience with modern cloud-native development
- Git, automated testing and CI/CD
- Experience working within Agile multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Experience with AI/ML, LLMs, RAG, semantic search, knowledge graphs, Docker, Kubernetes or Defence/National Security programmes would be advantageous.

Candidates must hold active DV (Developed Vetting) clearance to be considered for this position.
