FryerMiles are delighted to be working with an exciting SME Consultancy to assist with their recruitment of a DV cleared Data Scientist to work on a 6 month rolling contract (long term opportunity). The successful candidate will support the development, optimisation, and sustainment of advanced AI and machine learning solutions in a defence environment. You will work on mission critical capabilities, helping deliver data driven insights, improve operational effectiveness, and support secure, reliable decision‑making.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and improve machine learning models for operational use.
- Support the deployment and optimisation of AI solutions in production.
- Build scalable data pipelines and workflows to support model performance.
- Work with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to develop new features and use cases.
- Ensure solutions meet security, regulatory, and ethical standards.
- Contribute to resilient, maintainable, and high performing AI systems.
Essential skills:
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience building and deploying machine learning models.
- Knowledge of MLOps tools such as MLflow, Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Jenkins.
- Understanding of Data Engineering, ETL, and scalable system design.
- Ability to work effectively in secure, complex, and regulated environments.
- Must hold valid DV Clearance.
Desirable skills:
- Experience in computer vision or imagery analysis.
- Familiarity with defence, national security, or government programmes.
- Understanding of responsible AI and secure system delivery.
