We are supporting a major UK business as they look to appoint a Head of Accounting β a pivotal role leading their UK Accounting & Reporting function.

The role
- Lead a sizeable accounting and reporting team, improving the control environment, strengthening processes, and ensuring timely, accurate financials across P&L, Balance Sheet, cashflow and CAPEX.
- Be the key contact for audit, tax, technical accounting, and senior UK stakeholders β partnering closely with the UK Finance Director.
- Regular collaboration with global finance teams; professional-level Spanish is essential.
What you will be doing
- Leading, developing and structuring the Accounting Team.
- Driving process improvements across monthly and annual reporting.
- Overseeing all UK reporting into both the UK business and group.
- Managing cashflow, working capital and forecasting tools.
- Leading statutory audit and ensuring compliant reporting.
- Strengthening controls, balance sheet integrity and financial governance.
- Partnering with payroll to ensure clean reconciliations.
- Implementing policy, systems and automation improvements.
- Supporting M&A projects and financial due-diligence.
- Leading a programme to simplify UK legal entity structures.
What we are looking for
- Qualified Accountant (CA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
- Experience leading a team up to 6.
- Strong SAP knowledge.
- Excellent grasp of UK & international accounting standards.
- Proven track record in process, control and reporting improvements.
- Able to influence and engage SLT, auditors and global stakeholders.
- Comfortable leading through cultural change.
- Spanish language skills at a professional working level β required.
