FryerMiles is delighted to be partnering with an independent healthcare sector organisation in Twyford, Berkshire, who are recruiting a Payroll Manager to support on a permanent basis during an exciting period.
Reporting to the CFO, the Payroll Manager will be the strategic lead for a complex, large scale payroll operation. The role will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for a large workforce, overseeing payroll operations, compliance and process improvements. Working closely with senior leadership, the Payroll Manager will drive efficiency, maintain strong governance and controls, and lead a small payroll team to ensure high standards of service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end payroll function for 3,500-4,000 employees across multiple entities.
- Manage and develop a payroll team of 3, including a Payroll Supervisor.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing across hourly and monthly payroll cycles.
- Partner with the CFO to maintain compliance and drive payroll process improvements.
- Oversee payroll controls, reporting, and adherence to UK payroll legislation.
- Strong payroll leadership experience within high-volume environments.
- Solid knowledge of complex pay structures (hourly and salaried).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing large payrolls (3,000+ employees).
- CIPP qualification.
- Experience within multi-entity organisations.
- Immediate availability or a short notice period advantageous.
