Legal Counsel, Pensions in London

London Full-Time On-site
F

A well-established pensions provider is looking to appoint a Pensions Legal Counsel to join its growing legal team, providing pragmatic, commercial pensions advice across the business.
This is a broad pensions-focused role with plenty of variety - spanning scheme queries, operational issues, and requiring the commercial awareness and ability to spot crossover issues such as tax, regulatory, data privacy, alongside involvement in wider change programmes.
What's involved:
Providing comprehensive, timely and pragmatic legal advice on pensions matters to the business, Trustees and internal teams
Identifying, managing and mitigating legal risks, including disputes and litigation support
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating documentation with third parties
Monitoring regulatory developments affecting pensions activities and advising the business accordingly
Supporting company-wide programme and change projects with pensions expertise
Liaising with external stakeholders including regulators, external counsel and industry bodies
About you:
UK qualified lawyer (or overseas equivalent) with 3-10 years' PQE in a commercial, financial and/or pensions environment
Experience providing legal advice on pensions and commercial matters
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels across the business
Commercially minded, with sound judgement and strong attention to detail
This is a genuinely rewarding opportunity to join a not-for-profit organisation with a strong social purpose - working for members, not shareholders. The culture is close-knit and family-focused, flexible working is genuinely embedded, and the business offers a high-calibre environment to grow and develop without the pressures of a typical corporate setting.
