A well-established pensions provider is looking to appoint a Pensions Legal Counsel to join its growing legal team, providing pragmatic, commercial pensions advice across the business.
This is a broad pensions-focused role with plenty of variety - spanning scheme queries, operational issues, and requiring the commercial awareness and ability to spot crossover issues such as tax, regulatory, data privacy, alongside involvement in wider change programmes.
What's involved:
- Providing comprehensive, timely and pragmatic legal advice on pensions matters to the business, Trustees and internal teams
- Identifying, managing and mitigating legal risks, including disputes and litigation support
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating documentation with third parties
- Monitoring regulatory developments affecting pensions activities and advising the business accordingly
- Supporting company-wide programme and change projects with pensions expertise
- Liaising with external stakeholders including regulators, external counsel and industry bodies
About you:
- UK qualified lawyer (or overseas equivalent) with 3-10 years' PQE in a commercial, financial and/or pensions environment
- Experience providing legal advice on pensions and commercial matters
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels across the business
- Commercially minded, with sound judgement and strong attention to detail
