An international banking group, via recruitment partner Fry & Brown, is seeking a qualified solicitor for a Front Office Lawyer – Banking/Finance position within their Direct Lending team based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The role involves covering pan-European mid-market financing transactions from origination through to execution across a substantial and growing loan book.

Key Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualified solicitor with 2-4 years' PQE gained within a banking and finance team at a leading UK or US law firm.
  • Previous in-house experience is considered an advantage but is not strictly mandatory.
  • Strong Loan Market Association (LMA) drafting and negotiation experience.
  • Demonstrates sound commercial judgment, proactive self-starter attitude, and resilience to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

  • Embed as Legal Counsel within the Direct Lending team, handling acquisition finance, leveraged finance, asset-based lending, and structured corporate lending transactions.
  • Work closely with clients, external finance providers, external counsel, and internal stakeholders across the entire transaction lifecycle.
  • Participate actively in deal structuring, negotiation, and day-to-day transaction execution within a collaborative, non-hierarchical team culture.
