A specialist financial services company primarily supporting global M&A transactions is looking to make an additional legal hire for its newly established European business - a genuine ground-floor opportunity within an established and highly regarded US headquartered company.
Sitting within the firm's post-closing department, this involves substantive legal work: reviewing M&A deal documentation, advising on deal agreements, transfers of interest, fund flow, and providing legal guidance across the business as European deal volume grows. You will liaise and support both internal business teams and external clients whilst working closely with operational colleagues.
This role would best suit someone looking to move away from pure corporate work and long hours and move into an in-house operational role, but still use their M&A transactional knowledge.
What's on offer:
- Varied, intellectually interesting work — contract analysis, legal interpretation, internal advisory, cross-border M&A.
- Opportunity to develop and apply expertise in a high growth business and help shape how the business operates in Europe.
- Supported by a well-established and successful company in the US.
- Collegiate, close-knit culture with strong US team support, highly-motivated European colleagues and regular face-to-face contact with the wider team.
- Genuine scope for the position to evolve and develop.
About you:
- Qualified solicitor or equivalent, with 5–8 years' PQE.
- A corporate, company commercial or operations background, with some experience of transactional M&A.
- EU or UK legal qualification, and knowledge of European law essential.
- European language skills a benefit.
