A growing global financial technology business is seeking a junior lawyer to join its collaborative in-house legal team in London. The organisation provides portfolio management technology and outsourced services to hedge funds and institutional asset managers worldwide, supporting a broad range of investment management and trading functions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-growing environment at the intersection of fintech and financial services.
Joining on an initial 6 month fixed term contract and with the potential to become permanent in due course, the role will involve supporting the day-to-day legal function of the business alongside assisting on a significant corporate restructuring project. Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
- Advising internal stakeholders on a range of legal matters
- Supporting corporate governance and company secretarial activities
- Helping to develop and improve legal templates, processes and documentation
The successful candidate will also play a key role in monitoring and analysing contractual terms and identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies across the legal function. Candidates should be qualified lawyers with ideally circa NQ - 4 years’ PQE, trained within a leading law firm or with relevant in-house experience. Exposure to corporate, commercial, technology and/or financial markets work is essential, and experience within fintech or financial services would be highly advantageous. The successful applicant will be commercially minded, proactive and adaptable, with strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
