About Fruugo
Fruugo is a leading privately‑owned e‑Commerce Marketplace business making it easy for retailers to sell their products internationally. With Fruugo, any retailer can join and sell anything, to anyone, anywhere.
Job Purpose
Fruugo is at an important juncture in its growth journey and we are excited to keep evolving and raising our profile to consumers as we seek to secure our position as a leading and ‘go to’ global marketplace platform. The Consumer Marketing Manager will take responsibility for creating consumer focused marketing activity across Fruugo websites and (once launched) the Fruugo App. While Fruugo has an established demand generation team, we now want to enhance our analytical and data driven activities by adding additional skills to our team to lead new consumer focused workstreams. This new role will work closely with the Fruugo Data Science team (which includes demand generation) and other commercial teams to build consumer focused generic campaigns and activity. Examples may include key seasonal events ranging from Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Halloween, Black Friday and Christmas through to compelling on‑site/App activity such as ‘Merchant Deals of the Day’, ‘New from merchants this week’, etc. This role will be a key voice of the consumer within Fruugo and will tirelessly search out the campaigns and engagement mechanisms that excite them to ensure Fruugo’s marketplace proposition remains sustainable, relevant and attractive. The successful candidate will have a structured, data driven mindset and will be able to influence effectively across the relevant Fruugo teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the next chapter of Fruugo.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Leverage opportunities that align with Fruugo’s business model of a neutral intermediary with the third‑party merchants themselves making products available.
- Understand Fruugo traffic sources, characteristics and use of automation and seek to carefully maximise platform exposure to consumers.
- Develop strong working relationships with key people across Fruugo, including Account Management, Data Science, Legal and Engineering.
- Structure a plan for activity we would like to test and any requirements from other teams (e.g. Account management, Engineering etc).
- Build test campaigns with clear business cases and KPIs.
- Run the tests, evaluate success metrics and devise the next set of campaigns, incorporating learning.
- Help re‑shape our current demand generation activity from pure product and price focused to generic campaigns – e.g. the key seasonal events.
- Evaluate how a new approach can complement existing activity and consider how we best use AI and evolve our use of automated tools.
- Contribute to the development of the Fruugo App, taking a customer‑led view on compelling features.
- Play a key role in the launch of the Fruugo App, ensuring that the experience offered is compelling and measuring the key results.
Success Metrics
- Organic traffic, rankings, content‑influenced pipeline/revenue, engagement, share of voice.
- Example KPI’s – 20% QoQ growth in organic sessions; +15% content‑assisted revenue; 2 pillar + 6 supporting pieces/month; improve 10 priority keywords to top‑3.
Skills
- A problem solver.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Focused on relationships, able to gain trust through communication, expectation setting and completion of planned deliverables, including problem/issue resolution.
- Project management experience; knowledge of key concepts including phases, plans, deliverables, scope and tasks.
- Ability to operate under pressure and prioritise multiple responsibilities, balancing client deliverables on multiple projects as well as internal obligations.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft office/Google suite and the collaboration tools used by Fruugo.
