Business Analyst Responsibilities
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating complex needs into clear, actionable deliverables.
- Work across discrete projects and large programmes, adapting to varying scale and complexity.
- Facilitate workshops and key agile ceremonies to uncover, document, and validate business requirements.
- Produce high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Apply requirements capture and prioritisation techniques including BDD, Three Amigos, process mapping, and value stream mapping.
- Engage effectively with engineering teams to validate proposed solutions.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships at all levels, driving decisions through influence rather than authority.
- Contribute to governance, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with delivery communities to share knowledge, tools, and best practices.
Business Analyst Requirements
- Proven experience in a Business Analyst or similar role within agile delivery environments.
- Strong working knowledge of agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean/Startup.
- Experience with requirements capture techniques such as BDD, Three Amigos, and the cone of uncertainty.
- Ability to produce clear documentation including user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Confident facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders across all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a clear and concise approach to documentation.
- High emotional intelligence with a collaborative nature and empathy for other project roles including QA.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels within complex environments.
- Willing to embrace ambiguity and deliver results under pressure.
