An excellent contract opportunity for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join a forward-thinking technology company. This is a trusted, high-impact engineering environment where a Site Reliability Engineer will be given real ownership, solving complex problems and building systems that directly accelerate software delivery at scale.
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll focus on creating and improving the platforms, tools, and services that support modern web engineering. Your work will cover everything from building new environments and optimising CI/CD pipelines to enhancing observability, monitoring, and runtime systems. The goal is clear: empower web engineers to ship products faster, with greater reliability and security.
This role is hands-on and goes far beyond maintenance. The Site Reliability Engineer will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams across the stack, driving improvements to developer experience, testability, and distributed system resilience. Clean, maintainable code, strong security practices, and expertise in modern cloud infrastructure are essential.
Key Skills & Experience:- Solid experience in platform, SRE, or backend-focused roles
- Strong coding ability in Go, Java, or Python (for building tooling and services)
- Proven expertise with AWS, including CloudFront and related web application services
- Track record of designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform)
- Deep understanding of security best practices in cloud and application delivery
- Exposure to observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, structured logging, etc.)
- Confident debugging and resolving issues in complex distributed systems
- Background in B2B SaaS web applications, with familiarity in Node a plus
- Able to operate autonomously within small, high-impact engineering teams
- Bonus: Kafka, gRPC, or open-source contributions
