We are seeking an experienced Contract Front End Software Engineer to join an expanding Manchester-based engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a cutting-edge platform, building scalable and intuitive user interfaces.
As a Front End Engineer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, performant web applications using Angular and TypeScript. You will collaborate closely with Product, UX and backend engineering teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences through clean, maintainable code and thoughtfully engineered frontend systems. This is a hybrid role based in Manchester, requiring 3 days per week in the office.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop user-facing features, components, and enhancements using Angular and TypeScript.
- Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code.
- Optimise applications for maximum speed, performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, UX Designers, QA and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Implement performance improvements and usability optimisations based on analysis and user feedback.
- Ensure consistency, reliability, and quality through clean code and frontend best practices.
- Address cross-browser compatibility issues and ensure responsive design across devices.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to team planning and delivery.
- Support and mentor other frontend team members when needed.
- Assist QA and Support teams in resolving UI-related bugs, issues, and customer queries.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience with Angular 2+
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical-thinking mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable:
- Demonstrated ability to build responsive, performant UI components and applications.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and frontend integration patterns.
