This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to play a critical role in the delivery, support, and evolution of enterprise-scale IT infrastructure. Working within a well-established, forward-thinking organisation, you will be part of a team responsible for supporting a dynamic environment of 3000+ servers and hybrid cloud solutions.
Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure (compute, storage, virtualisation, containerisation)
- Support on-premise and AWS cloud workloads including Kubernetes platforms
- Provide 2nd and 3rd Line Infrastructure Support for server and client environments
- Administer Windows Server, Linux (RedHat & Oracle), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Collaborate with internal IT teams to ensure system integration and security
- Participate in on-call rota and occasional out-of-hours planned work
- Apply patches, investigate system logs, and remediate vulnerabilities
- Provide leadership and cover for the IT Infrastructure Manager when required
Infrastructure Engineer Requirements
- Strong experience with Windows Server & Active Directory administration
- Proficiency in Linux systems (RedHat & Oracle)
- Hands-on knowledge of enterprise tools (SCOM, SCCM, WSUS, DPM, Intune, Defender, Hyper-V)
- Experience with AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes (on-premise & cloud)
- Familiarity with automation tools (PowerShell, Ansible, Python preferred)
- Microsoft and/or AWS certifications desirable
- Previous experience in a senior or lead infrastructure role advantageous
