Contract Infrastructure Engineer – Azure
Location: Huddersfield (Hybrid) – Once per week in the office
Rate: Competitive, Outside IR35
Duration: 5 Months

We\’re working with a leading organisation in Leeds on a critical data centre migration to Azure, and are looking for a contract Infrastructure Engineer with strong Azure cloud migration experience to support this high-impact project.

You\’ll be joining a cloud transformation team delivering the full migration of legacy infrastructure into Azure. This is a hands-on role where you\’ll help shape and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure aligned with Microsoft best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the migration of on-premise infrastructure into Azure.
• Configure and manage Azure Virtual Networks, including VWAN.
• Apply cloud security best practices across infrastructure and services.
• Collaborate closely with architecture and security teams to ensure a secure, scalable cloud foundation.
• Troubleshoot networking, performance, and connectivity issues during migration.

Skills required:

Must have:

• Proven experience in cloud migration projects, ideally large-scale data centre migrations – Azure
• Solid knowledge of cloud security principles and Microsoft best practices.
• Strong scripting/automation knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, ARM/Bicep/Terraform – a plus).

Added bonus

• Exposure to Microsoft Service Fabric.
• Interest or experience working with OpenAI tools and services via Azure.
