My client based in London is recruiting for a Technical Account Manager to join a growing solutions-focused team within the electronic security sector. This is a customer-facing role combining technical expertise, commercial awareness, and strong relationship management to support the delivery of high-quality, compliant security solutions. The role suits someone who enjoys working across pre-sales, solution design, and client engagement, and who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
As a Technical Account Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the design, scoping, and pricing of security projects, while contributing to business growth and the development of long-term client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:- Supporting the bidding, design, scoping, and pricing of electronic security projects.
- Working closely with internal delivery teams, project managers, clients, and key stakeholders.
- Providing technical pre-sales support by interpreting client specifications and designing compliant, competitive solutions, including access control and CCTV.
- Acting as a trusted technical advisor to clients throughout the sales and delivery lifecycle.
- Supporting account growth by maintaining and expanding existing client relationships.
- Delivering technical pre-sales support, including solution design aligned to client requirements and industry standards.
- Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships through meetings, site visits, and regular engagement.
- Identifying and supporting cross-sell and upsell opportunities across new and existing clients.
- Liaising with supply chain partners to obtain competitive pricing and support commercially viable proposals.
- Working closely with Project Managers to support project delivery, including cost tracking, valuations, and commercial documentation.
- Providing insight on emerging technologies, market trends, and competitor activity.
- Supporting business development activities, including pre-project meetings, contractor engagement, and identifying routes to market.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the achievement of agreed sales targets, revenue goals, and KPIs.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- 5–10+ years’ experience in the electronic security industry, with a background as a technical security engineer.
- Proven experience in technical pre-sales, solution design, and client relationship management within a B2B environment.
- Strong understanding of IT and IP networking.
- Hands-on experience with access control and CCTV systems.
- Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, proposals, and contract considerations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and effective time management.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (intermediate level or above).
- Previous supervisory, senior, or mentoring experience.
- Experience with software configuration, leadership responsibilities, or commercial contract management.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments.
