Our client is seeking an experienced Network Architect to join their technology team on a 12-month contract, taking responsibility for the design and development of secure, resilient enterprise network solutions.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Design and develop enterprise network architecture across complex IT environments.
  • Produce robust network solutions with a strong focus on security, resilience, scalability and performance.
  • Lead technical design activities across Cisco networking and Fortinet security technologies.
  • Design and support firewall solutions using Fortinet and Forti Gate technologies.
  • Contribute to the implementation and optimisation of Zscaler solutions within the wider network and security environment.
  • Produce technical architecture, design documentation and associated network standards.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, security and other technology teams to ensure network solutions meet technical and business requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to key stakeholders and third-party technology partners throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience within Network Architecture, Senior Network Engineering or a closely related role.
  • Strong hands-on technical knowledge of enterprise Cisco networking technologies.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing solutions using Fortinet and Forti Gate.
  • Experience working with Zscaler technologies within enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, firewall architecture and secure connectivity.
  • Proven experience translating business and technical requirements into practical network designs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities across complex network environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Experience working across large-scale or complex enterprise network environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust networking and security principles.
  • Experience working with third-party technology and managed service providers.
  • Relevant Cisco, Fortinet, Zscaler or network security certifications would be advantageous.

Educational Requirements

  • Third-level qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Relevant networking, security or architecture certifications would be beneficial.
