My client is a growing Construction organisation seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the team, in an all-encompassing role with a view to moving into the FD position within 5 years. Reporting to the Directors, the successful candidate will assist with running the day-to-day accounting function.
Duties will include:
- Partnering with the Finance Director, deputising when needed whilst owning daily management of the team
- Responsible for the monthly management accounts, including a detailed profit loss and balance sheet analysis
- Investigate and explain variances in the accounts compared to forecast
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of cash flow forecasting to submit to Group Treasury including commentary
- Weekly KPI reporting - including sales performance and short-term cash flow
- Assist manage annual audit and preparation of statutory returns
- Reviewing and reporting weekly sales, overdue exchanges, unreserved stock plots, plot handover status, build stage status
- Participate and lead when needed in key meetings such as weekly sales build and CVR reviews
- Account, forecast and report on cost excesses/savings to enable robust decision making
- Proactively partnering with managers/directors to streamline processes and tighten controls
- Deputising for the FD in key operational meetings as and when required
- Developing and improving the ERP system and processes to support operational efficiency
- Streamlining existing processes and implementing processes that add value
