Role overview
The experienced and dynamic London financial advisory team is looking for a chartered accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of assignments spanning financial due diligence and independent business reviews. These assignments include pre-lend forecast reviews, buy-side financial due diligence and options reviews for distressed or semi-distressed companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial analysis and report preparation: Analyse, present and provide commentary on financial information including management accounts, audited accounts, budgets and forecasts. Identify and comment on unusual trends or variances and their potential causes by understanding the operations of the business and linking this to the financial information. Review forecast financial models including the structure of the model and how assumptions are modelled. Develop and analyse sometimes incomplete financial information, such as compiling a cashflow or funds flow from a profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
- Communication and client engagement: Support efficient delivery of projects through clear communication and collaborating with the team. Contribute to positive client relationships by gaining an understanding of their needs and objectives.
- Development: Engage in continuous learning and development activities both through on-the-job training and proactive use of the available training resources. Identify personal development needs demonstrating a desire to build knowledge and experience.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (ACCA/ACA qualified).
- Strong professional exam performance, with first-time pass grades in most modules, including the core accounting and financial analysis modules of your relevant qualifying body.
- Proficiency with Excel, strong core maths skills.
- Experience working with businesses that hold stock and are outside the financial services sector.
- Awareness of debt structures and bank facilities available to SMEs in the UK.
