Associate Director – Debt Advisory Location: London Team: Corporate Finance – Debt Advisory Reports to: Partner / Director The Opportunity FRP Corporate Finance is a team of ~100 professionals, including 21 partners, operating across the UK. In any given year, the team closes c.85 transactions, with a strong focus on private equity-backed businesses. Our Debt Advisory team plays a critical role in delivering tailored financing solutions to clients across a wide range of sectors. Following a period of sustained growth, we are seeking a high-performing Associate Director to join our award-winning Debt Advisory team. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape and deliver complex financing strategies, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the continued expansion of our practice. The Role As an Associate Director, you will take a lead role in managing and executing debt advisory mandates, while also contributing to business development and client relationship management. You will work closely with partners and directors to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients and support the strategic growth of the team. Key responsibilities: Lead the execution of debt advisory transactions, including structuring, negotiation, and documentation of financing solutions. Manage client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across private equity and corporate clients. Oversee the preparation of marketing materials, financial models, and client presentations. Provide strategic input on capital structure optimisation and financing strategy. Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance on technical and commercial aspects of transactions. Contribute to business development efforts, including origination of new mandates and participation in pitch processes. Maintain and grow relationships with key lenders, including banks, debt funds, and alternative finance providers. Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging financing structures. Your skills & experience Significant experience (typically 5 years) in debt advisory, leveraged finance, corporate finance, or a related field. Strong track record of leading transactions and managing client relationships. Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Deep understanding of debt markets, financing instruments, and legal documentation. Commercially astute, with a strategic mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
