Role overview:

FRP Advisory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director/Director of Corporate Finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special situations mergers and acquisitions (SSM&A), with extensive experience in a professional services environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to managing complex transactions and providing exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
    • Lead and manage SSM&A transactions from inception to completion on both the buy-side and sell-side.
    • Conduct financial analysis, due diligence, and valuation.
    • Develop and present strategic recommendations to clients.
    • Negotiate terms and structure deals to maximize value for clients.
    • Develop innovative solutions to complex challenges for clients facing financial difficulties.
    • Assess and analyse distressed companies to identify potential opportunities.
    • Coordinate with legal and financial advisors to manage insolvency proceedings.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives.
    • Provide high-quality, tailored advice and support throughout the transaction process.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the firm’s client base.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Provide guidance and support on complex transactions and client engagements.
    • Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.
  • Strategic and Operational Focus:
    • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the corporate finance practice.
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality services in line with the firm’s standards and client expectations.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to provide informed advice to clients.

Qualifications:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in corporate finance, with a focus on SSM&A.
  • Proven track record of managing complex transactions and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Significant experience in a professional services firm is essential.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
