Role overview

FRP Advisory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Restructuring Advisory for our London office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restructuring advisory services, with extensive experience in a professional services environment. The focus of the role is advisory work, leading large independent business reviews, contingency planning engagements and options analysis, as well as cash flow reviews, monitoring and critical cash management where required. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to managing complex restructuring situations and providing exceptional client service. The role will be hands on, the candidate will need to be confident report writer and financial analyst as well as being accomplished at managing and developing less experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage restructuring advisory projects from inception to completion, specifically focussing on independent business reviews, options reviews and corporate business restructurings.
  • Build and sustain excellent relationships with clients, establishing both a rapport and trust and assume ownership of client relationships.
  • Be a first point of client contact.
  • Focus on pre‑appointment advice, with involvement in formal restructuring processes as required.
  • Experience of delivering both mid‑market and larger scale assignments, with ability to quickly understand complex group structures and situations, prioritising key issues and delivering insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Conduct financial analysis and report writing for partner review.
  • Review work of junior team members in conjunction with manager/senior manager review (where relevant) and providing guidance and close supervision in more complex areas or where team is less experienced.
  • Develop and present strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Be responsible for client take on procedures, scoping assignments, WIP reviews, invoicing and for collecting debts from clients.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Take a lead in business development to enhance FRP’s profile in restructuring advisory matters.
  • Advise clients on restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, refinancing and other financial matters.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex financial and structural challenges.
  • Lead pitches and presentations to potential clients.
  • Involvement in FRP’s client service program.
  • Actively cultivate a wide network of professionals and corporates from which to generate leads and client work.
  • Act as a representative of the firm and department at events.
  • Identify new project opportunities and support partners to deliver the Restructuring Advisory team strategy.
  • Lead and mentor the restructuring advisory team in London.
  • Collaborate with other FRP pillars and offices to leverage expertise and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations.

Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in restructuring advisory.
  • JIEB qualified is preferential, but not a requirement.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
