National Installation Engineer

Salary: Β£51,111 + 13% Bonus

Location: Milton Keynes (Field Based)

Our client, a highly reputable Top 10 global diagnostics business, is seeking a National Installation Engineer to join their team.

Ever wanted to be the person who takes cutting-edge automated equipment from workshop to fully commissioned reality?

As a National Installation Engineer, you won't just fit parts together you'll be the technical expert who brings advanced automated systems to life, from first bolt to final handover, working across the UK and Ireland.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Building the foundations β€” assembling modules and conveyor systems, running sensitivity calibrations and configuring IT systems during pre-build at our clients Milton Keynes hub.
  • Getting equipment mission-ready β€” preparing kit for dispatch and hitting the road to install it on-site at customer locations, on time, every time.
  • Being the face of quality β€” running end-to-end QA checks so every installation meets the highest standard.
  • Keeping customers in the loop β€” clear, confident communication at every stage of the install, building trust as you go.
  • Solving problems on the fly β€” fault-finding, troubleshooting and thinking on your feet when things don't go to plan.
  • Backing up the wider team β€” jumping in on planned maintenance, corrective actions and technical campaigns alongside Field Service colleagues.
  • Staying sharp administratively β€” logging your work accurately through the service portal.

What You'll Bring:

Essential:

  • Willingness to travel nationally across the UK and Ireland, with pre-builds based at the Milton Keynes head office
  • Willingness to travel across Europe and the Middle East for company training
  • Level 3 qualification in electrical engineering (or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with pre-builds, installations and fault-finding
  • Strong mechanical and technical know-how
  • A solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles
  • Confidence reading and interpreting technical diagrams

Nice to have:

  • HND / HNC (with relevant experience) or equivalent in electronic and mechanical engineering
  • Technical training on haematology-related instrumentation
