A top 10 global, award-winning company seeks a Field Service Engineer within Clinical Diagnostics Instrumentation to join their successful team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist manufacturer of pathology instrumentation used in NHS and private laboratories. The ideal candidate will be experienced in installation maintenance, repair and inspection of clinical diagnostics instrumentation.
Key aspects of the role include the provision of an efficient and effective repair service, communicating with customers, peers and management effectively, undergoing relevant technical and product training, as well as completing all administrative duties as required and maintaining company property to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver effective repair, maintenance, and technical support to meet company KPIs, including First Time Fix, MTBF, stock accuracy, and timely PMIs.
- Accurately diagnose issues, confirm fault details, and ensure all work is authorised and documented correctly.
- Communicate professionally with customers, keeping them informed throughout each visit and providing clear completion reports.
- Liaise regularly with your Regional Field Service Manager and collaborate appropriately with sales and internal teams.
- Complete all required training to maintain technical competence and uphold company standards.
- Manage administrative tasks efficiently, including call closures, follow-up arrangements, error logging and accurate parts requests.
- Represent the company with professionalism at all times, both on-site and during any travel or overseas training.
- Must hold a full UK driver's license.
- Experience in a similar engineering role.
- HND (HNC with relevant experience) or equivalent in electronic and mechanical engineering.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic principles.
- Exceptional fault-finding skills.
- The ability to read and understand technical diagrams.
- Customer focused – should strive to exceed customer requirements.
- Good and effective written and verbal communicator.
- Job flexibility & willingness to travel – support of peers and juniors throughout the UK, Ireland and Northern Ireland may be required.
- Good working knowledge in MS Windows.
- General knowledge in MS Office products, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- An HNC/HND or NVQ 3 with 3 years' experience within an engineering field.
- Technical fault-finding skills.
- Knowledge on hydraulic and pneumatic principles.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Customer focussed, with the ability to provide effective and concise written and verbal communication.
- Job flexibility and willing to travel to support peers throughout the UK.
