My client is a UK manufacturer of heating and plumbing equipment, one of the few left. They have many years under their belt of supplying a wide range of heating equipment to the domestic heating and plumbing market. They pride themselves on their low staff turnover and attention to detail with their staff, this means they can provide a great service, their staff are happy, and people like using them.
They are recruiting for a domestic service and repair plumber, you will be:
- Covering south / south east London most of the time with a few clients being in north Kent
- Working on domestic plumbing and pipe work (copper and press fit) doing service and repair work
- Repairing pipe work for the company’s own range of electric hot water cylinders and thermal water stores
- Basic electrics – wiring up pumps, electric showers and controls
- The work is all in occupied domestic properties – council tenants, private tenants and housing associations
Salary for a domestic plumber:
- 41-45k basic salary
- Call out rota if 1 weekend day per 6 weeks (paid at x1.5)
- Van, phone, fuel card, uniform
- Overtime, pension
- Training on all of their equipment
- Great career progression and development
Experience needed to be a domestic repair plumber:
- Living ideally in or around the south east or south London area
- Good plumbing service and repair experience with relevant NVQ or C&G in plumbing – level 2
- Basic electric experience needed – having a Part P or basic electrics course would be ideal
- Having your Unvented Hot Water Cylinder certificate would be beneficial but is not essential
