Overview

A great opportunity to work with an established and growing care company providing residential live in support for children and young adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. They pride themselves on setting up life skills to help children become well-rounded members of the community, with staff providing emotional support as well as teaching and developing the children for the future.

Responsibilities

  • Based in a children’s residential home in Sefton on Merseyside
  • Work 2 full days and nights followed by 4 days and nights off (flexible)
  • Work with boys and girls aged 6-16
  • Support each child with daily routines: breakfast, getting dressed, school drop-off, laundry, school pickups, cooking dinner, bathing and bedtime
  • Prepare rotas for staff, lead the support team, ensure care plans are adhered to and help the manager run the home

Salary and Benefits

  • £15.70 per hour with Level 3 qualification, £17.18 with Level 5
  • £60 per sleep-in
  • Additional 16 hours per month paid for paperwork
  • 224 hours holiday per year; an extra 2 days after 2 years
  • Bank holidays paid at x1.5
  • Strong support network with further training and development
  • Private health care
  • Claim petrol back at 40p per mile

Qualifications / Experience / Requirements

  • Living in or around the Sefton area on Merseyside
  • Full UK driving licence required; owning a vehicle preferred, but a house car is available
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce is essential; Level 5 or being on the course is advantageous
  • Experience in a residential child care framework
