A great opportunity to work with an established and growing care company providing residential live-in support for children and young adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. They are always growing and take pride in the support they give the children – they believe that setting them up with the life skills now will help them turn into well-rounded members of the community. Their staff are always on hand to provide emotional support as well as helping to teach and develop the children for the future.

As a Children’s Home Deputy Manager, you will be:

  • Based in a children’s residential home in Colwyn Bay
  • Working 2 full days and nights and then having 4 days and nights off but can be flexible
  • Working with boys and girls from the ages of 6-16
  • Supporting the child with making them breakfast, helping getting them dressed and to school, putting on washing, pick-ups from school, cooking dinner, getting them bathed and to bed
  • Doing rotas for staff, leading the support team, making sure care plans are adhered to and helping the manager run the home

Salary and Benefits of a Children’s Home Deputy Manager:

  • £15.70 per hour if you have your Level 3, £17.18 if you have your Level 5
  • £60 per sleep in
  • An additional 16 hours per month paid for paperwork
  • 224 hours holiday per year – you get an extra 2 days when you have been there 2 years
  • Bank holidays paid at x1.5
  • A great support network with further training and development
  • Private health care
  • Claim petrol back for 40p per mile

Qualifications/Experience/Requirements:

  • Living in or around the Colwyn Bay area
  • You must have a full UK driving licence and ideally your own vehicle but there is a house car you will have access to
  • NVQ level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce is essential – having level 5 or being on the course would be a major advantage
  • Experience needed working in a residential child care framework
