We are seeking a Supply Chain Planner to join us on a 12 month contract.
About the job
Drawing on your exceptional account and people management skills, you will manage a portfolio of market leading magazines, focussed on the Commercial Re-Use titles, coordinating the delivery of copies from print to retail, to ensure titles hit the shelves on time. You will have to be able to build strong relationships with internal and external teams, including publisher production teams, our primary carrier and our internal wholesale team. Be able to problem solve, think on your feet and thrive in a busy, fast-moving environment. This role is Hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days a week based at our Peterborough office, with occasional travel to meet with publishers and other key contacts.
What you’ll be doing:
- Key influencer in Supply Chain operational planning.
- Planning and organising portfolio of titles.
- Proactively identify cost saving benefits.
- Manage costs on behalf of our publishers.
- Maintain system information and schedules for your portfolio of titles.
- Provide regular communication with FDS internal contacts and Publisher teams to support the title performance e.g. production, on sale compliance, remedial activity.
- Ensure successful, cost-effective delivery of copies to retail.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Working knowledge of Supply Chain relative to magazines or FMCG.
- Relationship-building, communication, persuasion.
- Ability to prioritise in order to meet deadlines.
- Planning and organisation.
- Problem solving and basic negotiation skills.
