Are you detail‑driven, organised, and looking to grow your finance career? We’re looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our finance team and play a key role in keeping our purchase ledger accurate, up to date, and running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Processing and paying supplier invoices and credit notes
  • Managing invoice approvals across the business
  • Reconciling the purchase ledger and resolving discrepancies
  • Preparing weekly/monthly BACS and cheque payment runs
  • Setting up and maintaining supplier accounts
  • Handling supplier queries by phone and email
  • Posting and allocating payments
  • Managing credit card logs, payments, and VAT receipts
  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Processing employee expense claims
  • Supporting month‑end tasks, audits, and wider finance activities

We are looking for people with:

  • Experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of accounting principles
  • Confident with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting software
