Do you love turning data into smart decisions and making sure the right stock is in the right place at the right time? If you enjoy problem-solving, planning ahead, and making a visible impact every day, this is the role for you. In this fast-paced position, you’ll be at the heart of stock availability—accurately allocating product to retail outlets using our in-house replenishment system and ordering from suppliers to meet future demand. You’ll manage the timely closure of orders, so products are picked and delivered on schedule, while balancing availability with optimal stock holding.
With a sharp eye on cost-effective replenishment, you’ll analyse stock levels and conduct store visits to maximise efficiency and performance across the estate.
We offer an informal hybrid working model, with a minimum of 8 office days in Peterborough every 4 weeks.
What you’ll be doing
- Run and optimise the store-level replenishment model, increasing frequency during peak and seasonal periods.
- Manage range changes, replenishment rules, and scenario planning to maximise availability, sales efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Monitor performance, allocation effectiveness, shrink, returns, and variances, taking corrective action where required.
- Ensure availability targets are met across BAU and key launches, including detailed volume planning from day-one supply onwards.
- Order stock weekly from distributors and manage stock effectively through seasonality, events, and wholesale opportunities.
- Forecast and mitigate risks from shortages or performance failures, advising stakeholders up to six months ahead.
- Apply continuous improvement to stock utilisation and recommend actions such as phasing out titles or improving future launches and algorithms.
We are looking for people with
- Experience in media distribution, logistics, FMCG, or a similar sector (preferred).
- Exposure to demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain (advantageous).
- A highly organised and methodical approach, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Confidence and proficiency in the use of systems.
- Strong planning, analytical, and numeracy skills are essential.
- Effective communication skills, strong relationship-building ability, and the confidence to challenge constructively.
- A positive, resourceful mindset and a high level of commitment to making a difference.
Even if you don’t meet every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you. If you’re excited about the role and believe you could be a great fit, we encourage you to apply.
What’s in it for you
- We offer a comprehensive benefits package to support your wellbeing and lifestyle, including:
- Contributory pension, including life assurance, and income protection.
- Informal hybrid working arrangements, combining in-office and remote/home working.
- Additional leave: 2 paid volunteering days per year and family-friendly policy.
- Wellbeing support, including our Employee Assistance Programme.
- On-site gym and parking at Stuart House, Peterborough.
