We are seeking a partâtime Buying Assistant (20 hours per week) to join our team. If you have strong numeracy skills, exceptional attention to detail, and thrive in a busy, deadline-driven setting, this could be a great next step in your career. This is a key administrative role requiring strong numeracy skills and exceptional attention to detail, supporting the Buyer across the News & Magazines category in a fastâpaced commercial environment. You will play an important role in ensuring retail activity runs smoothly and accurately, while supporting sales growth across the category.
Responsibilities include administration, coordination, and reporting, with a strong focus on rightâfirstâtime accuracy across systems, supplier income, range activity, and retail plans. Strong numeracy skills are essential to success in this role and will be assessed during the recruitment process. Youâll work closely with suppliers, retailers, and internal stakeholders playing an important part in the management of new titles, supplier income, range communications, and in-store activity, ensuring high standards of accuracy and organisation at all times.
We offer informal hybrid working, with attendance at the Peterborough office every Tuesday.
What youâll be doing:
- Manage new titles, ensuring systems are kept up to date with precise and accurate data
- Administer supplier income, maintaining accurate and timely reporting
- Communicate new ranges and plans clearly to relevant stakeholders
- Liaise with external agencies to approve and check POS activity, ensuring accuracy
- Support the Buyer with trade spend, retail reporting and ad hoc projects
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships with a âright first timeâ approach
- Track products in competitive outlets
- Work closely with finance and other internal teams
- Managing key relationships with retailers, suppliers and wholesalers
