We are seeking a driven and experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, deployable Engineered System Solutions (ESS) supporting the MOD, Home Office, and international clients. This is more than a delivery role — it’s an opportunity to take ownership of high-value, operationally critical programmes that directly support defence and security operations worldwide. The Role
You will take full lifecycle responsibility for multiple ESS projects — ensuring safe, compliant, on-time and on-budget delivery. This is a visible leadership role requiring strong commercial awareness, technical understanding, and the ability to influence and build trust at senior levels within government and defence organisations.
- Own project performance from mobilisation through to completion
- Lead electrical, mechanical and technical teams in complex operational environments
- Manage budgets, financial reporting, and delegated authority
- Develop robust risk registers, KPIs and executive dashboards
- Engage confidently with MOD, Home Office and international defence stakeholders
- Produce structured MS Project plans and high-quality reporting
- Support new business opportunities and bid activity
- Champion continuous improvement, efficiency and cost optimisation
- Coach and develop project team capability
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a confident, technically credible Project Manager with a proven track record in defence or government projects. You will bring:
- Recognised Project Management qualification (APM preferred)
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (C&G minimum or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering defence or government contracts
- Experience managing MOD, Home Office or international military stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness and financial control capability
- Advanced planning and programme management skills
- Ability to influence through structured business cases
- A proactive mindset focused on operational excellence
