The Role: We are seeking an experienced and reliable Vehicle Mechanic to join our growing workshop team based in Gedling, Nottinghamshire. This is a hands-on role working on a wide range of vehicle repairs and servicing across all makes and models. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and completing routine servicing to a high standard. MOT testing duties will also form part of the role for candidates who hold a valid MOT Tester qualification. This position would suit a skilled mechanic who takes pride in their work, can work independently, and is confident dealing with a variety of mechanical repairs in a busy workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out vehicle servicing and maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Performing repairs on a wide range of vehicles
- Completing brakes, suspension, clutch, exhaust, and engine work
- Conducting MOT tests where qualified
- Using diagnostic equipment effectively
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Advising on additional repair requirements where necessary
- Supporting the wider workshop team when required
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Mechanic / Technician
- Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing and repair
- Ability to diagnose faults efficiently
- MOT Tester qualification beneficial but not essential
- Experience working on multiple vehicle makes and models
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Reliable and professional approach to work
