Mechanical Engineer needed asap in Derby must be qualified to level 3 standard and experienced in manufacturing/plant machinery.

Days: 6-2 or 8-4 pm Monday to Friday. No weekends. Overtime structure if applicable.

Responsibilities & Key work tasks:

  • Carry out a full range of engineering and maintenance duties for the entire site, diagnosing and resolving faults.
  • Use of CMMS system to record maintenance and breakdown activities.
  • Proactive in maintaining, developing and implementing site improvement processes and carrying out both preventative and breakdown maintenance of all fixed plant.
  • Executing work to specific Health and Safety, Company and Industry Standards and Regulations.
  • Support local contractor management processes ensuring they are following Health and Safety Standards.
  • Ensure the plant is run in a safe and stable manner ensuring continuity of the process and equipment, whilst using best practices for energy efficiencies.
  • Operate and adjust the process to give the specified product quality level and quantity in accordance with the Quality System Requirements.
  • Carry out all in-process testing and at the frequency specified and accurately report, record, and communicate all information relevant to the activities carried out during your shift.
  • Fully deputise for the Shift Team Leader as per business requirements.
  • To ensure that the Plant and control room cleanliness is kept to the required standard.
  • Any other duties relevant to the task.
