The modern studio is located in the vibrant technology hub of Cambridge (UK). This role is offered on a full in-studio basis or a hybrid basis (typically 3 days per week in the studio). WHATβS THE ROLE?
As the Experienced UI Designer, you will get to work closely with the UI Lead and the UI Team, plus closely collaborating with game developers and the game design team. You will be responsible for executing the end-to-end process of feature development, including creating wireframes, prototypes, and final designs for key areas of projects. Additionally, you will be creating icons and UI art assets which contribute to the overall visual appeal and user experience, and establishing and improving the creation of UI designs by refining processes to push the boundaries of UI/UX on our projects.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Oversee key areas to help develop features by working closely with the UI Lead and wider project leadership team.
- Estimate work using documentation and breakdowns to help visualise when features will come online ready for testing and implementation.
- Collaborate with Game Designers to build features from scratch - from wireframes to interactive prototypes and high-fidelity mock-ups.
- Work closely with your team to understand problems and collaboratively develop smart solutions.
- Promote usability and user-centred UI solutions based on UX standards.
- Create high quality features to be programmed and engineered by developers.
- Manage and communicate risks throughout the design process.
- Provide UI expertise to help, mentor and coach more junior members of the team.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Capability to deliver features on time to a high quality.
- Strong experience in the video game iterative pipeline process: from Lo-Fi to Hi-Fi UI design development.
- Up-to-date with new design methodologies, innovations, techniques and software packages, and maintains knowledge on current trends and technologies.
- Ability to take a feature from start to finish including setting up reviews and giving constructive feedback.
- A great eye for composition, iconography and typography.
- Ability to make considered decisions which make an important impact on the delivery of the final asset.
- Develop deep knowledge about your assigned project area and how that fits into the game as a whole.

- HTML/CSS experience.
- Proactive approach to mentorship of junior members, and pass on experience whenever possible or necessary.
