If you're an experienced Data Engineer looking for more than simply delivering another backlog of tickets, this could be an opportunity to have genuine influence over the technology, the solution and the direction of major National Security programmes.
We’re working with a highly regarded specialist technology consultancy operating across Data and National Security. Despite its relatively small size, the business has built a strong reputation for technical excellence and is winning significant programmes against much larger organisations.
As part of continued growth, they are looking forexperienced Data Engineer (with current UK security clearance) to play a key role in designing and delivering complex data solutions.
Our client is open to Data Engineers of all levels and clearance status.
Our client will actively put you through the right level of security clearance.
This role is onsite, 4-5 days a week in Central London
The Opportunity
This is not a role where you will be one engineer among hundreds.
You’ll work closely with customers and internal technical teams to understand complex challenges, define the right technical approach and take ownership of the solution from design through to delivery.
Depending on the programme, you may be involved in architectural decisions, technical leadership, hands‑on engineering and mentoring others.
You’ll have the opportunity to engage directly with senior customer stakeholders and influence how critical data capabilities are developed.
What You’ll Bring
You should have strong experience across several of the following areas:
- Python software development
- AWS and cloud-based data technologies
- Designing and building scalable data pipelines
- ETL and ELT processes
- Data architecture and data modelling
- Distributed data processing
- Cloud‑native engineering
- CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment
- Infrastructure as Code
- Technical solution design
You’ll remain close to the technology, but you should also be comfortable taking a broader view of a problem and helping to shape the technical solution.
Why Consider It?
- Significant influence over technical direction and solution design
- Opportunity to work directly with senior customer stakeholders
- High-impact National Security programmes
- A technically strong SME environment with less bureaucracy
- Exposure to complex Data and Geospatial challenges
- Strong investment in professional development
- Clear opportunities to progress as the organisation continues to expand
- The chance to combine hands‑on engineering with technical leadership
