Systems Engineer – Defence

As a Systems Engineer, you'll work across the full systems engineering lifecycle, supporting the development, integration and delivery of complex technical solutions within the defence sector.

You'll collaborate with engineering teams, customers, suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure systems meet technical, programme and customer requirements.

The role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical defence and simulation capabilities, contributing to system design, integration, testing and future capability development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle.
  • Contribute to system design and architecture across complex engineering programmes.
  • Develop, manage and maintain technical requirements, ensuring solutions meet customer and programme objectives.
  • Support system integration, verification, validation, testing and acceptance activities.
  • Identify, investigate and manage technical risks, issues and engineering challenges.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop and integrate technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to support successful programme delivery.
  • Contribute to design reviews, technical documentation, demonstrations and future capability development.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of complex technical issues.

Essential Experience

  • Strong background in Systems Engineering.
  • Experience working on complex engineering systems or technical programmes.
  • Experience across areas such as requirements engineering, system design, integration, verification and validation.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience within defence, aerospace, maritime or another highly regulated engineering environment would be advantageous.
  • Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
