We are seeking Quantity Surveyors / Cost Managers to support our clients' pivotal projects. This role is instrumental in delivering end-to-end commercial and cost control services for transformational projects that support the UK's energy transition and Defence strategy. Projects can be either Nuclear, Carbon, Renewable Energy, Power, Net Zero, Transmission & Distribution or within Defence. All positions are working on a hybrid basis (3 days a week client site). Any Defence project requires UK SC Clearance to be held. BPSS will be required for Energy projects. Energy project locations: Manchester / Stockton / York / Leeds / Glasgow / Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle cost management across project lifecycles—from tendering and procurement through to contract negotiation, cost control, and final account settlement.
- Administer NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4 preferred), overseeing valuations, change control, and cost variance coordination.
- Provide robust forecasting, monitoring, and reporting of cost performance; ensure accurate and timely financial insights.
- Drive value engineering and cost optimisation strategies in alignment with project and client needs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with client teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Mentor and guide junior cost professionals, while contributing to continuous improvement of cost management practices.
What You'll Bring
- Extensive experience in cost management or quantity surveying within energy, renewables, hydrogen, carbon capture, or Defence sectors.
- Degree or HNC qualification in Quantity Surveying or a closely related discipline.
- Strong commercial and contract management skills, especially within NEC frameworks.
- Track record in consultancy environments or client-facing roles, capable of steering project success.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adept at managing multiple stakeholders in dynamic delivery settings.
