We are seeking a System Engineer to join a growing technical architecture practice, working on complex and secure programmes across defence, security and government environments. You’ll be part of a high performing team delivering innovative, mission critical solutions. Due to the highly secure nature of the projects, current DV Clearance is highly desired. The client can take SC with a view to obtain DV in the future (Must be sole UK Nationality).
The Role
- Support the design, development and delivery of secure systems, working from requirements analysis through to architecture, implementation, test and integration.
- The work is diverse, fast-paced and highly collaborative, involving engineers, architects, analysts and client stakeholders.
- Contribute to technical architectures, specifications and engineering designs.
- Develop test, integration, verification and validation plans.
- Work across multiple lifecycle stages in dynamic delivery environments.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support the development of engineering capability within the practice.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
- Engage with clients and support business development where required.
About You
- Structured engineering thinking, strong communication skills and the ability to deliver high quality work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience within defence, national security or secure government environments is highly desirable.
- Experience managing and refining requirements; strong stakeholder engagement.
- Background in Defensive Cyber, Enterprise Architecture or Secure System Design.
- Verification and validation experience on complex technology projects.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering experience (ArchiMate, UML/SysML).
- Requirements management tooling experience (e.g., DOORS or equivalent).
- MOD delivery experience or familiarity with MOD architecture views.
- Understanding of system security principles.
- Prior consultancy experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.
- INCOSE ASE/IEng/CEng or equivalent professional registration.
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
