Frontier Resourcing are working with a leading defence and national security client, specialising in cutting-edge technologies. You will be responsible for the design, manufacture, verification, validation, and lifecycle support of test equipment at board, sub-system, and system level. With a focus on R&D and cutting-edge technologies, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to hone and develop your technical knowledge.
The role
- Create test solutions - Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems
- Lead and support hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
- Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions
- Lead design reviews and documentation to the highest standards
Experience
- Test development experience – creating test solutions, not just running test programmes.
- Excellent knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design.
- Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.
- Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production.
- Able to support/debug system integration
- Use of Mentor Graphics schematic entry and PCB layout tools.
- Understanding of common test architectures PXI/d LXI
- Measurement Uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation
- Software Certification or detailed knowledge of: NI LabView, NI CVI, NI TestStand, C#
- Design of mixed signal circuits
To be eligible for this role you will need to undergo BPSS clearance which requires 3 years UK residency and references. This role is working in a Test Lab so onsite working is required. Working a condensed week, working full-time hours across 4 days (Monday to Thursday), giving you a long 3-day weekend.
