My growing Defence client is looking for a Junior Project Manager, ideally you will have experience working within the defence environment. Appreciation of manufacturing/engineering is desired but not essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Project Manager/Project Support Analyst looking for that next step within a high tech focused defence company.
Role Purpose
To lead the interface with the customer and manage successful delivery of allocated project/s in line with agreed scope, internal and customer costs, and schedule targets ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and requirements.
What you will be doing:
- Look after small projects and lead the project team in all phases of the product/project lifecycle from mobilisation definition through design, manufacture and in-service support ensuring successful delivery in line with statutory, contractual and company requirements.
- Liaise with and manage subcontractors and suppliers, in conjunction with procurement, to ensure relevant standards are met and maintained and deliverables are successfully achieved.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations, clarify issues, and ensure risks and opportunities are identified and managed.
- Liaise with the customer to ensure any customer dependencies are met, any project issues are communicated, customer reports are provided accurately and on time and customer deliverables are agreed and met in line with acceptance methods to enable payment.
- Oversee the project integrated schedule ensuring clearly defined responsibilities, alignment of budgets, reporting of progress and estimation of completion to enable reliable delivery forecasts and prediction of profitability.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and provide reports and information relating to allocated project/s and their progress, including governance, technical, schedule, cost, risk, and resource to ensure stakeholders are accurately informed in a timely manner.
- Manage allocated project budgets, conducting reviews and agreeing realignments, as necessary, and balancing risk to ensure cost effective delivery of allocated project/s.
- Advise, support and guide management, employees and stakeholders on allocated project/s and their progress to ensure successful monitoring, control and delivery in line with relevant standards and requirements.
- Manage, coach, and motivate the project team to facilitate continuous professional development and to optimise service delivery.
- Plan project resource demands to support the planned scope of work/schedule across multiple projects.
- Manage dependencies with other projects/programmes including with the customer to ensure optimal delivery.
- Identify new business opportunities and work with the business development team to grow the business.
