Frontier Resourcing is delighted to be supporting an ambitious and rapidly growing consultancy that delivers innovative project controls solutions across some of the UK's most critical sectors, including Infrastructure, Rail, Civil Engineering, Nuclear and Defence. As part of their continued growth, they are looking for an experienced BI Developer to join their team in Bridgwater. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in designing and delivering enterprise-scale Business Intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision making across major programmes and projects.
Working within a collaborative and technically skilled team, you will be responsible for developing scalable Power BI solutions, semantic models and analytics capabilities using the latest Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Fabric.
Responsibilities- Design, develop and maintain enterprise Power BI semantic models, dashboards and reports.
- Develop scalable dimensional data models (fact and dimension tables) to support analytical reporting.
- Design and optimise enterprise semantic models using star schema methodologies.
- Develop advanced DAX measures, calculations and KPIs to support business reporting requirements.
- Optimise Power BI datasets and semantic models to maximise performance and scalability.
- Develop and enhance Power Query transformations and troubleshoot data performance issues.
- Optimise SQL queries and underlying data sources for analytical workloads.
- Work with Microsoft Fabric to develop modern analytics solutions.
- Utilise Python within analytics environments, including Fabric Notebooks and Databricks where appropriate.
- Support deployment, governance and automation of enterprise BI solutions.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality reporting solutions.
- Promote best practice across data governance, security and analytics standards.
- Extensive experience developing Power BI semantic models, dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions.
- Experience delivering analytics solutions within Infrastructure, Rail, Nuclear, Defence or other highly regulated industries.
- Strong experience designing dimensional data models for enterprise analytics.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Fabric architecture.
- Advanced experience with DAX and enterprise semantic modelling using star schema design.
- Strong experience tuning and optimising Power BI semantic models.
- Advanced knowledge of Power Query, including transformation optimisation and diagnostics.
- Strong SQL skills with experience optimising data sources for reporting and analytics.
- Experience using Python within analytics environments such as Microsoft Fabric Notebooks or Databricks.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Security Groups, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Deployment Pipelines, REST APIs, Data Gateway Architecture, Audit Logging and Monitoring.
- Experience implementing governance standards across enterprise analytics platforms.
- Experience working within Azure-based data platforms.
