Due to increasing demand within our client’s projects, we are seeking a Planning Lead to support critical energy transition programmes across the UK. You’ll join a collaborative and high-performing team delivering complex, high-value infrastructure and energy projects based around Manchester.
As a Lead Planner, you’ll play a central role in developing and managing integrated schedules, identifying key risks, and driving performance insights that enable successful project delivery, whilst leading a team.
What You’ll Do- Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project
- Establish baselines, WBS, and planning frameworks across major programmes
- Conduct critical path and schedule risk analysis; model 'what-if' scenarios
- Track progress and performance using Excel, Power BI, and earned value metrics
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure accuracy
- Present reports, S-curves, and dashboards to support informed decision-making
- Lead planning assurance and governance aligned with NEC/FIDIC contracts
- Lead a team of planners and support capability development within the team
- Provide planning expertise to integrated project controls environments
- Stakeholder management and leadership
- Proven experience in planning major energy, nuclear or utilities projects
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, and performance dashboards
- Knowledge of EVM, critical path method (CPM), and risk-based planning techniques
- Familiarity with contract frameworks such as NEC
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills
- Experience in regulated environments
- Eligible to work in the UK and travel to client sites as needed
