We're looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join a growing team delivering and supporting secure, next generation defence networks. This is a hands on role combining BAU support and project work, where you'll work across both physical network infrastructure and software defined networking. You'll play a key role in maintaining current environments while helping implement future network capabilities.
What you'll be doing:
- Support and maintain enterprise-scale network infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and security issues
- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls and wireless networks
- Work across both hardware deployments and SDN environments
- Monitor network performance and recommend improvements
- Support network design and delivery for new defence projects
- Collaborate with security teams and external suppliers
- Produce and maintain technical documentation
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years' networking experience
- Strong experience in enterprise-level environments
- Ability to work across physical networking and software-defined networks
- Solid understanding of:
- L2 / L3 networking concepts
- High availability protocols
- Next-generation firewalls
- Network monitoring tools
- Troubleshooting tools (e.g. Wireshark)
- VPN & remote access
- Wireless administration
- CCNA or equivalent is desirable
- Security Clearance
- Sole British Nationals only
- Are willing to undergo DV clearance
- Hold no dual nationality
- Have not spent more than 3 months outside the UK in the last 10 years (or can fully document this)
