We're recruiting for a Lead Software Engineer/ Team Lead to join a leading defence organisation in Bristol.
This is a hands on Team Lead role where you'll provide both technical leadership and line management to a team of software engineers, while remaining actively involved in software development, system architecture, design reviews, integration, and delivery.
The Role You'll lead the full software development lifecycle, ensuring high quality solutions are delivered to meet customer and business requirements.
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll play a key role in system level architecture decisions.
Key Responsibilities Lead and line manage a small team of Software Engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring and performance management.
Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, integration and delivery.
Remain hands-on with software engineering, supporting architecture, code reviews and system integration activities.
Contribute to system level design decisions across software, hardware and networking.
Manage project schedules, resources and team budgets to ensure successful delivery.
Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams to develop complex, high performance systems.
About You Proven experience leading or managing software engineering teams.
Strong hands on Software Development, including C++ development experience (essential).
Strong experience using Jira (essential).
Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic engineering environment.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
