The Energy Practice is Frontier’s largest sector specialisation, bringing together economists across all European offices to support clients across the energy sector. Our teams work with major energy companies, regulators and public authorities in more than 50 countries. The practice combines deep sector expertise with Frontier’s rigorous economic analysis to address complex strategic, regulatory and commercial challenges facing the energy industry.
The Proposal Advisor plays an important role in supporting business development activity within Frontier’s Energy Practice. Reporting to the Practice Manager, the role focuses on managing the preparation and submission of high-quality proposals and tenders for clients across the energy sector. The Proposal Advisor works closely with consultants and collaborators across Frontier’s European offices to identify opportunities, coordinate bid processes and develop compelling proposal materials. The role ensures that proposals are well organised, meet client requirements and are delivered on time. This role combines project management, content drafting, coordination and stakeholder engagement. It requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously while working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage the preparation and submission of proposals and tenders for the Energy Practice, ensuring submissions meet client requirements and deadlines.
- Act as project manager for proposal processes, coordinating inputs from consultants and collaborators throughout the bid lifecycle.
- Own the administrative and compliance requirements associated with proposals and tenders, ensuring all submission requirements, documentation and portal processes are completed accurately and independently.
- Identify and monitor new tender opportunities relevant to the Energy Practice and coordinate new project requests within the practice.
- Support bid and no bid decision making within the practice by gathering information and coordinating discussions.
- Draft high-quality proposal content including experience statements, pitch documents and presentation materials.
- Develop clear and compelling messaging that highlights Frontier’s expertise and value proposition for clients.
Insights, Continuous Improvement & AI
- Monitor submitted proposals and track win and loss outcomes.
- Follow up on unsuccessful bids to gather feedback from clients.
- Contribute to internal reporting on proposal activity and performance metrics.
- Analyse feedback and identify opportunities to improve future proposals.
- Share insights with colleagues in the Energy Practice to strengthen future bidding activity.
- Support the continuous improvement of proposal materials, templates and internal processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of proposal development using AI tools and automation, working with colleagues to test and implement approaches that reduce time spent on repetitive tasks while maintaining proposal quality.
Culture and Collaboration
- Work closely with economists and colleagues across the Business Management Team within the Energy Practice to support business development activities and ensure proposals reflect the practice’s expertise and priorities.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with Proposal Advisors in Energy and across practices to share knowledge, align approaches and improve proposal processes across Frontier.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in proposal development.
- Communicate clearly and openly with colleagues, actively giving and receiving feedback to continuously improve ways of working.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience managing proposals within a professional services environment.
- Strong project and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong writing and copy editing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborative and proactive approach with a professional and flexible mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C2).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Confidence to contribute ideas and challenge constructively where appropriate.
- Interest in the energy sector or willingness to develop sector knowledge.
